Loving experienced home sought for this great little pony, 15 years young, 12.2hh. Skyla needs a confident rider as she is quite forward going once she hits canter so I would class her as a second pony. Skyla is great when out hacking, first or last, even alone ( with me following behind on a bike! ) I would say she is pretty bombproof, the worse she'll do is have a cheeky snack! ( can be led from another horse). She's good in the school and loves to jump, her only flaw is that on occasion when asking for canter she puts in a little buck through excitement. My daughter often rides her bareback with just a head coller, sometimes just around the yard, on the roads a little, we even have schooling sessions which include jumping, skyla puts on her best behaviour when being ridden bare back. Skyla has learned to enjoy being pampered, she's turned into quite the peoples pony, and will stand for a good few hours before getting bored ( this used to be 20 mins! ). We've only been to one show as we don't have transport readily available, she was quite nervous, I don't think she's really ever been shown, but I'm sure with time and patience she would come round. She went on pony club camp and that was a different story, she loved it! Skyla lives out all year, she does NOT like being stabled! Shes barefoot, good with farrier for trims, great to catch, needs encouragement to load, but will with patience ( about 10-20 mins ). No health issues. Must go to a kind, knowledgeable home, as I think she may test you to start with ( my brother looked after her when I was away, she tested him! ) she can be a little Bolshy when waiting for her food, and occasionally strong when leading in if she's particularly hungry! Skyla hasn't done much over winter so we're slowly bringing her back into work ( weather permitting!) and is a little more excitable than usual! Hence the low price, this could go up when she's fully in work again. I've tried to be as honest as I can, as I don't want her passed around if you find she's not suitable, this pony deserves a loving long term home. Please get in contact for any more info, pics.
